A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT & THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
On
behalf of the Board of Directors of the Royal Circle Foundation, let me take this time to send out our sincerest prayers to
the people and the entire country of Haiti severely affected by the devastation of now two earthquakes recently striking the
country.
It is reported that more than three million people have been affected by these catastrophic events with thousands
of lives lost along with collapsed governmental and hosptial buildings as well as other key structures of the country and
a destroyed infrastructure in many regions. The people of Haiti have been suffering for a very long period of time even before
this terrible tragedy. Now, with these most recent events, they are in dire need of assistance from the global family. The
degree and magnitude of the destruction is staggering! Safety, health, nutritional, and clean water needs are the most immediate
concerns. Many humanatarian efforts are underway to assist with this immediate crisis. We applaude the efforts of those attempting
to meet these critical emergent needs. We are also grateful to know that our government has pledged that the good people
of Haiti will not be forgotten, at least not this time in history.
Recovery in this country will be a long and protracted
process. We encourage everyone to support the work of reputable agencies and organizations on the ground assisting the people
of Haiti to survive this onslaught of the devastation and to rebuild. The Royal Circle Foundation pledges to do our part
in supporting the long term recovery efforts through the development of the Haitian Aid Recovery Program (HARP) with a series
of year-long activities designed to provide financial and manpower assistance to this country and its people. The Foundation
will team with other organizations to aid in the rebuilding of this nation.
We are all one human family who need each
other. Our support and yours in helping the people of Haiti recover is vital to the fulfillment of their long awaited and
often elusive dream of freedom, independence, and a better quality of life.
